The Greater Ossining Chamber of Commerce presented the Village Fair to go along with the Village’s Bicentennial Celebration in 2013, known as “Ossining in 3D.”
The daylong event featured more than 170 booths and four stages with live entertainment. Aside from the typical fair activities, visitors had the chance to participate in activities centered around the bicentennial, including sculpture tours and a “Holy Ossining” heritage tour.
“We were very pleased with this year’s turnout,” said Gayle Marchica, president of the Greater Ossining Chamber of Commerce. “The Ossining Village Fair truly exemplifies the spirit and energy of our local businesses and wonderful community. We received a number of positive comments from fair-goers throughout the day.”
"Everywhere we go we hear that this was the best fair ever,” said fair coordinators Omar Herrera and John Girolamo.
A panel of judges deemed Basta Pasta as the “Best Slice in Ossining” during the festivities.
Guided tours of the “Ossining in 3D” sculpture tour, which features 25 pieces, will occur again on July 6 and will continue on the first Saturday of every month through October. The tours start at 81 Croton Ave. at 10 a.m. for the downtown tour and 2 p.m. for the waterfront tour. Reservations must be made by phone at 914-762-6232 or by email at vmonastra@ossbuilding.org.
For those who wish to check out the sculptures without the guided tour, maps are available online at www.villageofossining.org and www.celebrateossining.com. Hard copies are available at the Village of Ossining Municipal Building, the Clerk’s and Village Manager’s offices, the Community Center, the Ossining Public Library and at each sculpture.
