OSSINING, N.Y. - Yvette Murphy, a retired bookkeeper and lifelong resident of Ossining, died Oct. 18 at Bethel Nursing Home in her hometown. She was 96.
An active Ossining community member, Murphy was involved in the League of Women Voters, Ossining's Woman's Club and the New York State Democratic Party. She was born on May 30, 1915 in Ossining and went on to work as a bookkeeper for County Asphalt Inc. in Tarrytown for a number of years. She was also a communicant of St. Augustine Church in Ossining.
Murphy is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Thomas R. Murphy and her sister Eunice G. Rosenburgh. A funeral mass will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Augustine Church. Ossining Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
