Ossining Letter: Town Board Endorses Borgia For Re-Election

OSSINING, N.Y. -- The Ossining Daily Voice accepts signed letters to the editor. Send letters to ossining@dailyvoice.com.

To the editor:

We are pleased to endorse Catherine Borgia for reelection to Westchester county legislator in District 9. Before serving as county legislator, Catherine was the town supervisor in Ossining. So either as our colleague on the Town Board, the Village Board where she also served as trustee, or working together with us on the County Board, Catherine has been a dynamic and strong force for good.

As town supervisor, she worked through tough economic times to streamline service delivery and work carefully with the various departments as well as the public to find innovative solutions to tricky problems. She was instrumental in analyzing inter-municipal agreements between town and village, and instituting a new one with the county to utilize county policing. Catherine brought the Town on board with environmentally friendly policies and joined the Northern Westchester Energy Action Consortium, in order to find proactive ways to engage the public in energy savings and opportunities for grants that would otherwise not have been available. She launched many initiatives to make sure Ossining and its neighbors were poised for the future.

She has been a responsible steward of county resources, and has worked to help the town comply with federal housing regulations in a way that will have a positive impact for our residents.

We look forward to continuing our productive relationship with the county and encourage everyone to do the same by voting for County Legislator Catherine Borgia for re-election on Nov. 5.

Sincerely, Susanne Donnelly – supervisor Town of Ossining Geoff Harter – deputy supervisor Town of Ossining Northern Wilcher – councilman Town of Ossining Eric Blaha – councilman Town of Ossining
