OSSINING, N.Y. -- Willa Miller died at her home in Ossining on March 23 after battling cancer. She was 73.
The daughter of William and Charlotte Hansen, she was born in Galveston, Texas. Miller graduated from Ossining High School in 1957. She enjoyed singing in local churches as well as at the Maryknoll Seminary and with the Old Mill Singers.
Miller was a choir member and cantor at St. Theresas Catholic Church in Briarcliff Manor. An avid tap dancer, she loved to dance with her granddaughters.
She is survived by her husband Ed Miller of Ossining, her children Edward, Lynn and Jeff and four grandchildren. Miller is also survived by her brother William (Margaret) Hansen of Irvington, Ky. She was predeceased by her sister Joan Cannady.
Visitation will be held at Leach and Thomas Funeral Home in Ossining on Monday, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral mass will take place at St. Theresas Church at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. Interment to follow at Dale Cemetery in Ossining.
