To the editor:

My name is Eileen Gallagher, a candidate for New Castle Town Board running on the Team New Castle 2.0 slate along with running mates Seth Chodosh and Supervisor candidate Robert Greenstein.

Since Greenstein ran for Town Supervisor in 2013, I have gotten to know him while reporting town board news. Rob Greenstein is a top-notch supervisor, and is well deserving of another term. He is a man of action, running on seemingly little sleep and endless energy.

He isn’t afraid to put himself out there for something that will make our town even better, to give something a chance before giving up. He is not a sedentary leader, but a supervisor that never stops working for the town, despite running his own New York City law firm.

He is a creative problem solver, approachable, always eager to speak to residents and listen to their suggestions for improving the town. He’s a man of action. His passion and results are undeniable.

We all benefit from his hard work, positive energy, passion and drive. He is able to work across party lines and navigate the red tape. Our town is on the cusp of adopting a master plan for the first time since 1989.

New Castle finally has set a course of necessary infrastructure improvements, combined with downtown revitalization efforts. At the same time, the town is retaining the beautiful environs that, along with the world-class schools, attracted many of us to raise our families here.

I have enjoyed working with Rob a great deal. Our collaboration has led to a lot of hard work, frequent brainstorming sessions, and many many laughs along the way. It has been an honor to work with both Rob and Seth, and I look forward to continuing our hard work to keep New Castle moving in the right direction - Forward!
