Chait was born Jan. 29, 1975 in Israel and started ice skating in the 1990s when she traveled to Russia with her father. She competed nationally in Israel from 1995 to 2006, and was the 2002 World bronze medalist with her partner Sergei Sakhnoski.

Chait met Sakhnovski while they were students at the University of Delaware and originally trained in Russia, before moving to New York.

During the 2006-2007 season, Sakhnovski suffered a foot injury forcing the pair to miss the season, and then announced their retirement. At the 2002 and 2006 Winter Olympics, Chait was the flag bearer for Israel.

After retirement as a skater, Chait became a coach in the sport. She was coach to Israeli brother and sister team, Alexandra Zarestsky and Roman Zarestsky. The team won the bronze medal at Skate America 2009.

Chait is currently an ISU Technical Specialist and makes her home in Paramus.
