OSSINING, N.Y. - Ferdinando Giusti, of Ossining, died Jan. 30 at the age of 89.
He was born Aug. 20, 1922 in San Vittorino, Italy to Luigi and Domenica Giusti. He was held a prisoner of war during World War II with the Allied Forces in Italy. Giusti moved to Ossining where he owned Giusti Mason Contractors for many years.
A member of the Columbus Lodge, he was an avid bowler and bocce ball player. He also enjoyed following Italian soccer and Formula One racing.
Giusti is survived by his wife Rosa, his sons Sandro (Marlene) of Wappingers Falls, N.Y. and Ferdinando "Freddy," Jr. (Pattiann) of Ossining, his sisters Angelina Capulli and Natalina Giusti of Italy, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Luigi and his brother Mario.
He will be reposing from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at Leach & Thomas Funeral Home in Ossining. The funeral mass will start at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Ann's Church, followed by burial at St. Augustine's Church.
