Members of Ossining Girl Scout Troop 2295 delivered the pies to Trinity Church, in downtown Ossining, where the food pantry distributes food on Thursday nights and Friday mornings.
"We are so very grateful to the leaders and members of Ossining Girl Scouts for this generous donation," said Martin Engelhardt Jr., president of the Ossining Food Pantry.
"It is inspiring to see young children and teenagers motivated to help feed our neighbors in need. The food pantry clients were delighted to have a delicious homemade dessert to add to their Thanksgiving meal."
The Ossining Food Pantry noted that it feeds a growing number of people each year and is a purely volunteer-run organization, which relies on the hard work of community volunteers and donations.
The food pantry is always in need of nonperishable food items. Food drives can be organized by calling 914-762-5510 and leaving a message. A volunteer will give specifics about what foods are needed at the time and how to arrange delivery of the donated items.
To make a financial donation or volunteer, visit the food pantry's website or call 914-762-5510. Donations can also be mailed to Ossining Food Pantry, PO Box 869, Ossining, NY 10562.
"Ossining Food Pantry volunteers extend Happy Holiday wishes to our clients, donors and to the community at large," organizers noted. "Thank you for your ongoing support."
