OSSINING, N.Y. -- Ossining is small in size but plays largely in "American Culture," said a New York Times article about the Village.
Its history dates back to before the American Revolution, said the New York Times.
The report also pointed out some of its claims to fame, among them, Sing Sing prison and the fact that both John Cheever, the author, and Don Draper of "Mad Men" fiction lived there.
Ossining has a diverse mixture of 25,000 inhabitants, according to the New York Times.
Home purchasers are first-timers, and "empty nesters" are seeking homes there, according to the article.
