OSSINING, N.Y. – A concert at the Ossining Public Library and a fund-raiser supporting the Greater Ossining Food Bank in Briarcliff Manor highlight this weekend’s events.

Friday, Sept. 21

Computer Help: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free drop-in help with computers. Residents can learn how to navigate web pages and create documents in Microsoft programs. For more information, contact Cheryl at (914) 2416, Ext. 315. Ossining Public Library, 53 Croton Ave.

Games at the Ossining Library: 3:30-5 p.m. Video and board games in the Budarz Theater. Ossining Public Library, 53 Croton Ave.

Senior Cooking Class: 10 a.m. to noon. "The Chemistry of Food and Cooking," a Westchester Community College Mainstream course for senior citizens. The class will be taught by Sandra Flank of the Westchester Community College. The class will be Sept. 21 and 28 and Oct. 12. Contact Kathy Asaro or Debbie Klein, 941-7198, to sign up for the class. Though the class is free, registration is necessary. Ossining Senior Center, 95 Broadway, Ossining.

Maryknoll Film Festival: 7:30 p.m. “Of Gods and Men” is the September feature at the International Film Festival. The festival provides monthly offerings Friday evenings from September through April. Maryknoll Mission Center, 55 Ryder Road, Ossining.

End Polio Now Celebration: 6-9 p.m. The Ossining Rotary Club begins its evening celebration with a barbecue and fellowship. U.S. Rep. Nita Lowey is expected to be on hand for the celebration. $25 per person. RSVP with Susanne Donnelly at Shattemuc Yacht Club, Westerly Road, Ossining.

Saturday, Sept. 22

Exercise Class at All Saints: 8:30 a.m. The Briarcliff Manor church hosts a free exercise class Saturdays. All Saints Episcopal Church, 201 Scarborough Road, Briarcliff Manor.

The Ossining Farmers’ Market: 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Ossining Farmers’ Market is set to open for the 21st season at 8:30 a.m. Saturday on the corner of Spring and Main streets in Ossining. Dozens of vendors from around the tri-state area are returning this year. There also are several new vendors joining the market for the first time. The Farmers’ Market is every Saturday through Dec. 15. Market Square, Market and Spring streets. 

Ossining Library Opening Reception: 2-4 p.m. The Ossining Public Library is hosting an opening reception for local artist John Wunderlich. Wunderlich’s new exhibit “Visions of New York – Manhattan Project” is open to the public for viewing in the gallery of the Ossining Public Library. Ossining Public Library, 53 Croton Ave.

Making Strides For Breast Cancer Tag Sale: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Better Homes and Garden Rand Realty is hosting an annual tag sale to help Making Strides For Breast Cancer. 1270 Pleasantville Road, Briarcliff Manor.

Sunday, Sept. 23

Guy Davis Performance at the Ossining Library: 2 p.m. Bluesman Guy Davis performs at the Ossining Public Library. Singer-songwriter Nik Rael is scheduled to open for Davis. The concert is free and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Ossining Public Library, 53 Croton Ave.

Ossining Food Pantry Celebration Fundraiser: 5-8 p.m. The Ossining Food Pantry is hosting its 24th annual celebration fundraiser at the Wilderness Mansion at Rose Cliff in Briarcliff Manor.
