Friday, March 1

Meditation Class at Ossining Library: 4 p.m. A meditation technique named Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) will be presented, developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn. For additional information, email June at junesey2000@yahoo.com. The class is open to all and preregistration is not required. This is a free class and is not a library-sponsored program. Saturday, March 2

Beginner Yoga At Ossining Library: 11 a.m. This program is for Teens and Adults. Bring a yoga mat and blanket for a class taught by trained yoga instructor Catherine Riedel. First Winter Farmers Market: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Down to Earth Markets  hosts the first-ever Ossining Winter Farmers Market at Spring and Main streets in downtown Ossining. The market will gather many vendors, including Amazing Real Live Food Company, Baked by Susan, Bread Alone, Feather Ridge Farm, Gajeski Produce, Hudson River Apiaries, Meredith’s Country Bakery, Migliorelli Farm, The Pastures, Pickle Licious, Pika’s Farm Table, Pura-Vida Fisheries and Tierra Farm. The winter market will run Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through May 18.

Red-Tailed Hawks at Teatown: 10 to 11:30 a.m. Did you know that red-tailed hawks are one of the most adaptable raptors? Learn some of the amazing ways that these incredible hunters survive around humans, even in some unlikely circumstances. Hear the story of Pale Male and meet one of Teatown’s red-tailed hawks. Teatown Lake Reservation, 1600 Spring Valley Road, Ossining.

Sunday, March 3

Sugaring Sunday at Teatown: 1 to 3 p.m. Stoke up the fire, it’s sugaring time at Teatown. The naturalists will be in Warren’s Sugar House to share facts and folklore about this sweet time of the year. One-hour tours begin at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. Teatown Lake Reservation, 1600 Spring Valley Road, Ossining.

Animal Adventures at Teatown: 1 to 2 p.m. Bunny Hop! Meet a few of Teatown’s ambassador animals in this program featuring rabbits. This program is for families with children ages 4 and over. Teatown Lake Reservation, 1600 Spring Valley Road, Ossining.

Dennis Elsas at Ossining Library: 2 p.m. Dennis Elsas presents "Rock n' Roll Never Forgets," a multimedia presentation. Elsas is known for his creative musical programming and interviews with rock legends. As one of the pioneers of the progressive FM radio revolution WNEW-FM, he had a front row seat for rock's greatest era and will share his favorite stories and experiences from interviews with John Lennon, Elton John, Jerry Garcia and more.
