Friday, May 24

Meditation Class at Ossining Library: 4 p.m. This is a free class and is not a library sponsored program. A meditation technique named Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) will be presented, developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn. For additional information, e-mail June at junesey2000@yahoo.com. The class is open to all and pre-registration is not required. Ossining Public Library, 53 Croton Ave.

Ossining Yoga At The Library: 11 a.m. This program is open to both Teens and Adults. Please bring your own yoga mat and towel.  This program is open to the first 45 participants. For more information please contact the Teen Room at 914-941-2416 ext. 336. Ossining Public Library, 53 Croton Ave.

Spring Ossining Farmers Market: 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Down to Earth Markets hosts the Ossining Farmers Market at the corner of Spring and Main Streets in downtown Ossining. The market will gather many of the vendors the Ossining community has come to love: Amazing Real Live Food Company, Baked by Susan, Bread Alone, Feather Ridge Farm, Gajeski Produce, Hudson River Apiaries, Meredith’s Country Bakery, Migliorelli Farm, The Pastures, Pickle Licious, Pika’s Farm Table, Pura-Vida Fisheries, and Tierra Farm. Teatown Event Of The Weekend: 11 a.m. Amazing Animal Senses. Animals have many adaptations that clue them in to what is happening around them. Discover some neat ways that animals sense their environment and see if you can compete in their world. Free for members; $5 per person for non-members.  Registration is strongly recommended. May Art Exhibit At Ossining Library: Library Hours. The Ossining School District’s Annual Art Show will take place from May 1 to 30 at the Ossining Public Library. This art exhibit includes students’ artwork from grades k-12. Ossining Public Library, 53 Croton Ave.

Monday, May 27

Ossining Memorial Day Parade: 9:30 a.m. Veterans, community and benevolent organizations, the Ossining School Board, the Ossining Fire Department and Police Department, the Ossining High School band, and local Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops are all expected to march in the Memorial Day Parade. It's scheduled to step off at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the corner of Croton and Calem avenues. The parade is set to continue down Croton Avenue, Main Street, Washington Avenue, and wrap up at Nelson Park.

Briarcliff Memorial Day Parade: Noon. The Briarcliff American Legion Post 1054 will be leading the annual parade at noon Monday through downtown. Dozens of local groups also marching in the parade include the Braircliff Manor Fire Department, local girl and boy scout troops, little league baseball teams and other local school and village officials and organizations. The parade begins at noon down Pleasantville Road, down Larch Road, Oak Road and Ash Road before returning to Law Memorial Park for a ceremony.

Briarcliff Memorial 5K Run/Walk: 8:30 a.m. The Friends of the Briarcliff Manor Public Library are also set to host a 5K Run/2 Mile Walk at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Law Park Pavilion. More than 150 residents from all over Westchester have already registered for the 6th Annual Memorial Day Run/Walk to support the library. Registration on event day is $30 for residents 13-and-up and $20 for 12-and-under.
