OSSINING, N.Y. -- The first-ever Fall Food and Fashion show -- held at Market Square in Ossining -- was a huge hit on Saturday.
Down to Earth Markets organized the event and brought in several local businesses to provide support and their services, which helped make the event a success.
Fashions came from all over Ossining, including stores like Bob's Army Navy, Lillian's, The Club Fit clothing boutique and many local designers who attend Westchester Community College.
Mike and Miriam Risko of Mike Risko Music provided the live music and were the Master of Ceremonies for this event.
Hair and makeup were provided by Shine Salon and Kim Flood of Nu' Me Salon. The event started at 11 a.m. and models -- all local community people and farmers from the farmers market -- took to the red carpet on the runway in their new fashions; some walked with their dogs, while others carried seasonal veggies and fruits like apples, squash and Brussels sprouts.
There were hundreds of people in attendance at the event. It ended with Ossining Mayor Victoria Gearity in a red gown from Hot Society Boutique on Main Street.
Some of the other models are very active PTA volunteers in the Ossining School district, like Rorie Caparelli and her dog Ginger, Beth Sniffen, Jenna Roach, Catherine Cioffi and Maria Campuzano. New Village Manager Abe Zambrano also took to the runway.
