Ginza, a mainstay in Nassau County since 2012, and the first to offer sushi from Japan's famed Tokyo’s Tsukiji market announced on its website it had closed the Massapequa restaurant.

"It is with a heavy heart that we announce we have closed our doors permanently," the restaurant said on the website. "We have appreciated serving you & wish you nothing but the best in the future. Thanks so much for your patronage over the years!"

Crowds flocked to the restaurant where sushi chefs were known for producing unique rolls that earned the spot many accolades from food aficionados.

The restaurant said on its Facebook page that it was one of the few places where diners could sample "the style and flavor of Japan straight to Long Island."

In addition to its food, the restaurant was also known for its mirrored box building that shined next to the Sunrise Mall.

Attempts to reach the owners were unsuccessful.
