PEARL RIVER, N.Y. - The gymnasium at Pearl River High School was as loud, and as jam-packed as it possibly could be, as rivals Tappan Zee and Pearl River locked horns in a Friday night overtime thriller that left fans, as well as players, physically and emotionally exhausted.
It was true rivalry; high school basketball at its best.
With the raucous crowd roaring every play on both ends of the court, it was the visiting Dutchmen who pulled out the win, pulling away to a 63-55 win in overtime, lifting their season record to 10-1.
Jack McKeever led Pearl River with 19 points.
