ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- It was another successful, fun-filled Zumba for Charity Night organized by the Blauvelt Lions Leo Club at Tappan Zee High School.
More than 100 school and community members filled the TZHS gym on Nov. 2 for an hour of dance and exercise to raise money for Homes for Heroes in Tappan, led by Zumba instructor Judith Richards.
Participants of all ages, danced and moved to the upbeat music, trying out new steps and working up a sweat for the charity.
More than $1100 was raised for Homes for Heroes in Tappan.
The Tappan Zee High School Leo's Club is the largest Leo club in the district with more than 250 Leo's from the high school participating in various activities including everything from helping out at Lions Club events to feeding the homeless and raising funds for the needy.
The next Zumba for Charity for the Penguin Plunge which will be held toward the end of February, 2016.
