PEARL RIVER, N.Y. -- The long-term forecast for Pearl River schools shows a 25 percent drop in students by 2024, according to a lohud.com report.
Much of the decrease is noticeable in the younger grade levels. According to a new demographic report, kindergarten through fourth grade stands to lose 253 students, or 28 percent, said lohud.com.
The losses are a bit smaller in the higher grades. District officials said they weren't alarmed by the predictions, but they plan to keep a close eye on the numbers, reported lohud.com.
