Ramapo police responded to the report of the wreck around 11:44 a.m., according to police.
A 2002 Cadillac operated by a 68-year-old woman had been traveling westbound on State Route 202, and attempted to make a left turn into the post office, police said.
The Cadillac was struck by the victim's car, a 2001 Honda Civic traveling eastbound on State Route 202, according to police.
The driver of the Civic was extricated from her vehicle by the Hillcrest Fire Department, and treated by Spring Hill Ambulance, along with Rockland Paramedics, before being pronounced dead, police said.
Each vehicle was occupied only by the driver, according to police.
Identities are being withheld at this time, pending notification of the next of kin.
