Poughkeepsie Woman Gave False ID During Traffic Stop, Police Say

A Poughkeepsie woman who provided police with a fake identity during a traffic stop was arrested after her deception was uncovered, according to Town of Lloyd Police.

Nicole M. Tomitz, 30, was charged with falsifying business records, criminal impersonation and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle on Oct. 10, said Lt. James Janso.

Tomitz was stopped by Lloyd police for a traffic violation on Vineyard Avenue in Highland on Aug. 28 when she provided police with the ID of another person, police said.

The officer later discovered she had provided fake information and a warrant was issued for her arrest. She was tracked down and arrested on Tuesday, police said.

Tomitz was charged and released on $500 bail. She is due to appear in court on Thursday.
