Police: Rockland Mother Tries To Chase Her Child Out Of House With Knife

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- An alleged domestic dispute at a home in Ramapo Thursday evening led to the arrest of a mother on charges she tried to chase one of her kids with a knife, according to Ramapo Police.

Officers responded at 6 p.m. to a verbal dispute between the woman, 40, with one of her children, after deciding that she did not want him living in the home anymore, said police.

That is when police say she attempted to chase him out of the house with a knife. 

 Officers located the weapon on a table in the home, and it was secured as evidence, according to police.

The mother, police have not identified in the report, was arrested and charged with menacing and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

 She was released after being arraigned by a judge, who issued an order of protection in this case, according to police.

The women is set to appear in court next month.
