ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Orangetown police have arrested a resident of Haverstraw on multiple traffic and motor vehicle offenses following an incident in Blauvelt.
The arrest came about after a motor vehicle stop for illegally-tinted windows, according to officials.
During the stop, the investigating officer found that the suspect, identified as Luis Fermin-Urena, was operating the vehicle with a suspended registration, without insurance and without a valid New York State driver’s license, police report.
Fermin-Urena’s vehicle was impounded, at which time the investigating officer also found an open bottle of Scotch whisky, according to officials.
The suspect was arrested for numerous vehicle and traffic violations, including misdemeanor operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and possession of an open container in a vehicle, police report.
Fermin-Urena was released with a return court date scheduled for Wednesday, July 13, in Orangetown Justice Court, according to officials.
