ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Orangetown police have arrested a 19-year-old resident of Highland Falls on a DWI charge, according to authorities.
Bert McCormick was stopped by patrol officers on Main Street in Nyack early Saturday morning for driving erratically and other traffic violations, police report.
After the stop, it was discovered McCormick had the odor of alcohol emanating from his breath; he failed numerous field sobriety tests, according to authorities.
McCormick was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and was transported to Orangetown police headquarters, where he failed a breath test by more than double the legal limit, police report.
The suspect was processed and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, according to authorities.
He was released and is due back in Nyack Justice Court on Tuesday, July 26, to answer the charge, police report.
