ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- It’s not all work and no play for folks who serve with the Orangetown Auxiliary Police.
The volunteer organization helps preserve the town’s quality of life by helping police with traffic control, pedestrian safety and an expanded “presence” at big events.
On Aug. 10, members got to be part of a crowd without having to control it.
The whole gang used their regular August meeting to confab at a recent Rockland Boulders game, according to Sgt. Robert Ruggiero.
As the police department’s Facebook post said: “a great time was had by all.”
The Rockland Boulders are an independent professional baseball team based in Pomona, that are members of the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball.
Anyone wanting to join the auxiliary crew can call the police department at (845) 359-3700 and ask for Ruggerio or Sgt. Anthony Palazolo.
