ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- An Orangeburg man is facing criminal mischief charges after police said he ripped a phone out of the wall during a domestic disturbance.
William A. Teitz, 48, was arrested Tuesday after police responded to a 911 call at a home on Edgewood Drive.
According to police, Teitz had grabbed a phone away from a woman who was calling police and then yanked the device out of the wall.
He was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor, and sent to Rockland County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail, police said.
He is to appear in Orangetown Justice Court at an unspecified date, police said.
