Ivon Garcia was found near 78th Street just before 10 p.m. Wednesday by Deputy Chief Dave Ricigliano, Patrolman Jeffrey Gennari told CLIFFVIEW PILOT less than an hour after the discovery.
She was taken to Palisades Medical Center for evaluation, he said.
A public alert went out after her husband said Garcia left their apartment to go shopping at 6 a.m. and didn’t return.
“We were actively looking for her” when Ricigliano, 55, spotted Garcia, Gennari said.
A Union City native who has since moved to the township, Ricigliano has been with the department nearly three decades. He’s written for several publications, including Guns & Weapons and New Jersey Cops. Ricigliano is a FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force liaison, as well as a certified firearms instructor. He also has two adult daughters.
