SPARKILL, N.Y. – Eileen A. Steffanci, a resident of Sparkill and formerly of Beacon, died Sunday, Dec. 20 at the Joe Raso Hospice Residence in New City. She was 92.
Steffanci was born Jan. 11, 1923, in Beacon to Michael A. and Alice Hanlon Usifer.
She graduated from SUNY New Paltz, working as a teacher and librarian for the Beacon City School District and as a Eucharistic minister at St. Joachim-St. John the Evangelist Church.
Steffanci was predeceased by her parents; husband Nicholas; and four siblings, Ralph, Joseph, Francis and Helen.
She is survived by her children, son Thomas and his wife Debbie of Surprise, Ariz., daughter Mary Alice Barna and her husband Michael of Nyack, and daughter Jane Miner and her husband Michael of Columbus, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours are on from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Halvey Funeral Home Inc., 24 Willow St., Beacon. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 31 Willow St., Beacon.
Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery along Route 9W in Newburgh.
