ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. --Three people were arrested and one person was stabbed as a brawl broke out in the area of Artopee Way in Nyack following the annual fireworks show on Tuesday, according to the Orangetown Police.
The melee broke out around 1:15 p.m. when a physical altercation took place among multiple people, with one person being stabbed and others receiving injuries, police said.
When police arrived on the scene they found a 20-year-old man who had been stabbed in the face with a knife. He was transported to Nyack Hospital for treatment. The man who stabbed him fled the scene, police said.
While officers were breaking up the fight and investigating, they heard several gunshots in the area of Depew Avenue. A search of the area turned up one bullet round inside a parked car and another in a vacant apartment.
Three people were arrested including a 52-year-old man for assault and two 21-year-old males for disorderly conduct, police said.
The department was assisted at the scene by the South Nyack-Grandview Police, Clarkstown Police, Rockland County Sheriff's Office, New York State Police, and the Piermont Police.
