ORANGEBURG, N.Y. -- Students at Tappan Zee High School recently held a blood drive in honor of a student who took his own life earlier this school year, according to News 12.
The students, who collected the blood in order to help others, did so in memory of Jimmy Hauburger, who died in September, according to News 12.
The students at the Dutch Hill Road high school run about four similar blood drives during the year. Each unit of blood they collect helps, on average, three people, according to News 12.
