ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Thousands of servicemen serving during WWII, made a first stop at Camp Shanks in Orangetown, before making their way overseas, according to lohud.com.
By the time a museum to honor the camp and the soldiers opened in 1994, a signpost that helped soldiers find their way was gone, said lohud.com.
Now, thanks to the handwork of a Boy Scout, with a connection to the camp's history, a new signpost is once again standing at the museum's entrance, reported lohud.com.
