ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- An Orangeburg spruce will sparkle with thousands of lights and bring holiday cheer to visitors at Manhattan's Bryant Park's Winter Village this year, according to lohud.com.
The tree, a 64-foot tall Norway Spruce weighting 8,000-pounds, was cut down Nov. 9 from the home of Larry Forgacs in Orangeburg, said lohud.com.
It took crews more than eight hours to tie the branches together to get the tree ready to be cut down, reported lohud.com.
Forgacs didn't ask to be paid for the tree — instead of payment, he asked for two additional trees be removed from his backyard, said lohud.com.
