NYACK, N.Y. -- Sen. David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Westchester) will be part of panel discussion tonight (Tuesday, Dec. 8), at a Nyack screening of a documentary about the Hudson River.
Riverkeeper, an environmental nonprofit dedicated to protecting the river, is sponsoring the free event.
It starts at 7 p.m. at the Nyack Center, 58 Depew Ave.
“The Hudson: A River at Risk,” is a three-part documentary by Oceans 8 filmmaker, journalist, author, and adventurer Jon Bowermaster.
The mini-documentaries are:
- “Bomb Trains on the Hudson,” which addresses the potential dangers of transporting crude oil through river communities.
- “The Long Shadow of Indian Point,” which focuses on the aging nuclear power facility in Buchanan.
- “A Bridge Over Troubled Waters,” which covers the environmental and economic impacts of the Tappan Zee Bridge project.
A short profile of local boat captain John Lipscomb will also be shown.
Also on the panel will be: Riverkeeper president Paul Gallay; Bowermaster; Laurie Seeman of the Rockland Water Coalition; and Susan Van Dolsen, a community and environmental activist.
