PEARL RIVER, N.Y. -- A yearlong environmental battle came to an end recently when Anellotech announced it was canceling plans to build a plant in Pearl River, according to Lohud.com.
Citing high construction costs, the the bio-chemical company said it would built its 2,400-square-feet testing facility in Texas but keep its headquarters and research division in Rockland County, said Lohud.com.
The decision was celebrated by a grass-roots group of residents and politicians, who spent the last year protesting the plan, said Lohud.com. The group, Stop Anellotech, also had challenged the plant in state Supreme Court, said Lohud.com.
