Oakland Fire Department Seeks Volunteers

OAKLAND, N.J.-- The Oakland Fire Department needs volunteers. You must be at least 16 years-old, and a U.S. citizen.

The Oakland Fire Department holds meetings on Monday evenings to help recruit borough volunteers.

All applicants should be in good physical condition, be a legal resident of Oakland for a minimum of six months and have not been convicted of a felony.

Upon acceptance, there will be an 18-week firefighter course.
