DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.J. – A super PAC set up against Republican congressional candidate John Faso was found to have been funded mostly by his potential primary opponent in Dutchess County, the Poughkeepsie Journal reported.

Federal filings found that the New York Jobs Council had received $60,000 from Dutchess County businessman Andrew Heaney and his family in July.

Both Heaney and Faso are aiming to replace Rep. Chris Gibson as the Republican candidate for the 19th Congressional District in the 2016 election, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.

The Jobs Council treasurer released a public statement affirming that the PAC is fully compliant with federal law.
