State Police troopers were dispatched to the Acme Plaza on North Avenue, where they conducted a welfare check on two people that were reportedly drinking in a car on Saturday, Feb. 25.

According to police, during the subsequent traffic stop, troopers determined that Long Island resident Joseph Leuci was in possession of cocaine and marijuana, and arrested both he and the driver, 33-year-old Sonny Reale, of Poughkeepsie.

Leuci, 36, was charged with a felony count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor count of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Reale was charged with a misdemeanor charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Reale was issued an appearance ticket and is due back in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court later this year. Leuci was arraigned in court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.
