New Paltz Fire Displaces Three Tenants

NEW PALTZ -- Three tenants were displaced after a two-alarm fire on N. Chestnut St. in New Paltz on Friday night.

According to Poughkeepsie Journal, an electrical issue with the attic's wiring resulted in a small fire in the attic and heavy smoke in the building's third floor stairwell.

The American Red Cross' Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter aided one of the tenants and will also assist the other two.
