Mother, Kids Injured Following I-84 Car Crash

SOUTHEAST, N.Y. -- A young mother and her two toddlers were injured during a crash on Saturday on a stretch of I-84 in Southeast.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at around 2:25 p.m., state police said.

The driver, 25-year-old Araceli Rodriguez, of Shelton, Conn., lost control of her vehicle while trying to change lanes, state police said. The Kia left the roadway through the left shoulder and flipped on an embankment.

Rodriguez and her 2-year-old daughter and a 2-month-old son went to Danbury Hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.
