Ruth E. Jasinski, 95, Of Pleasant Valley

PLEASANT VALLEY, N.Y. -- Ruth E. Jasinski, 95, of Pleasant Valley, died Friday, July 1, 2016 at home.

Shewas born Feb. 23, 1921, in Poughkeepsie, the daughter of the late Carl and the late Naomi (Johns) Becker. She married Edward J. Jasinski Nov. 8, 1947, at St. Mary's Church in Poughkeepsie. 

She was predeceased by her husband in 1996.

Jasinski was a lifelong area resident, always lent a helping hand and was very family oriented. 

She is survived by her daughter Sharon Simmons of Pleasant Valley; grandchildren, Melissa Simmons (Matt) of Salt Point, Dawn Jasinski of Poughkeepsie, Alicia Freymuth (Justin) of Poughkeepsie, Kristy Jasinski (Mike) Binghamton, Erica Knapp (Chuck) of Hyde Park, Diane Jasinski of Poughkeepsie and Jessica and Jake Jasinski of Poughkeepsie; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Rhonda, Carter, Camden and Gavin; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog Sasha. 

She also was predeceased by two sons, Joseph and Chris Jasinski; and four sisters and one brother. 

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, 342 South Ave., Poughkeepsie with burial to follow.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie.
