ORADELL, N.J. – Robert L. Byrd, 85, of Oradell, died Sunday, Nov. 29.
He was born and raised and Closter, but lived in Oradell for 49 years.
He was the devoted father of Linda Pierro and her husband William; Brian Byrd and his wife Diane, Lizette Sundvick and her husband George; loving grandfather of William and Andrew Pierro; Brianna Byrd; and Davin and Jessica Sundvick; dear brother of Richard and Howard Byrd; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Byrd worked for many years at Singer-Kearfott and Bendix Corp. He also was a member of the U.S. National Guard.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Volk Leber Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery.
