James Capralos, 75, Of Rhinebeck

RHINEBECK, N.Y. -- James Capralos, a resident of Rhinebeck, died Thursday, Jan. 28. He was 75.

He was a 1957 graduate of Watertown High School. He graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology in 1959 with an associate degree in electrical engineering followed by a Bachelor of Science from Northeastern University in 1969. He was a member of the Massachusetts National Guard. He was an employee of IBM for 30 years from 1963-93.

He was a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors since 1970, including Connecticut Chapter 148 and Mid-Hudson Chapter 84. He was also a member of the LaGrange Lions Club for 20 years and enjoyed serving his community.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Karen June Grant, her husband Jason and their son Nikolai of Natick, Mass.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, Feb. 2, from 6-8 p.m. at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, Feb. 3, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
