Henry A. Rathjen, 69, Of Rhinebeck

RHINEBECK, N.Y. -- Henry A. Rathjen, a resident of Rhinebeck, died Wednesday, May 4. He was 69.

Born Sept.11, 1946, in Brooklyn, he was the son of John and Dorothy (Bowman) Rathjen.

He moved to Rhinebeck with his family and attended Rhinebeck schools. After finishing school, he was a union electrician for Local 215 and Local 363 for 35 years until his retirement in 2004.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Ellen; two children Kelly and Peter; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, John Rathjen; and several nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Dorothy (Bowman) Rathjen.

There are no calling hours. Services are private and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions in his honor can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or to the Landsman Kill Stocking Club, in care of Joan Winne, 10 Wynkoop Lane, Rhinebeck, NY 12572.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home in Rhinebeck.
