Gloria Jornov, 84, Of Red Hook

RED HOOK, N.Y. -- A longtime Red Hook resident, Gloria Jornov, died Wednesday, Aug. 24. She was 84. 

Born Nov. 11, 1931, in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late George and Elsie (Burch) Sitzer. 

For many years, she worked as a nurse’s aide with Anytime Nursing Service based in Rhinebeck and also at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck. 

She was a member of Christ Church in Red Hook and also the Red Hook Post #7765, V.F.W., Ladies Auxiliary. Among many things, she enjoyed most her crafts and baking. 

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa S. Smith and Barbara J. Jornov;  son, Franklin Jornov; sister, Loretta; grandchildren, Brittany Smith, Cierra Smith, Foster Dunn, Kevin Dunn, Heather Dunn, Staci Jornov, Tasha Jornov and Kellie Jornov; and several great-grandchildren. 

Friends may call from 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Burnett & White Funeral Home, 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Red Hook. The Rev. Fred C. Cartier will officiate. Burial will follow.
