George Dahlgren, 86, Rhinebeck Resident

RHINEBECK, N.Y. — Rhinebeck resident George Dahlgren died on Wednesday, May 18. He was 86.

Dahlgren was a technical writer for IBM for 32 years. 

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and received the Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. 

Dahlgren is survived by his three children, Regina Ardini and her husband, Bill, Michael Dahlgren and his wife, Darlene, and Richard Dahlgren and his wife, Mandy; five grandchildren, Laurel, Eric, Dawn, and her husband, Vinnie Martelli, Logan, and Meghan; and great-grandson, Vinnie. 

Dahlgren was predeceased by his wife, Rita (Mahometano) Dahlgren, and his parents, Carl George Dahlgren and Anna Marie Anderson Dahlgren.

Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m., on Friday, May 20 at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, in Hyde Park.

Funeral services will be at 6:30 p.m., on Friday, May 20, during the calling hours. 

Rev. Chuck Kramer will officiate. 

Graveside services with military honors and burial will be at 11 a.m., on Saturday, May 21 at Montrepose Cemetery, Montrepose Ave., in Kingston.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc.
