Florence M. O'Malley, 91, Of Rhinebeck

RHINEBECK, N.Y. — Florence M. O'Malley, of Rhinebeck, died Sunday, Aug. 21. She was 91.

She was born May 26, 1925, in Rhinebeck, the daughter of James and Florence M. (Campion) Forshaw.

She and her husband, John J. O'Malley Sr., were married in 1951 and began to raise their family in Bangall. She worked as a waitress at the Stanford Diner and the Carousel and for 15 years as a nurse's aide at the Dutchess County Infirmary.

Since retirement, she has been a very active member of the community as a member of the Forever Young Club, Rhinebeck AARP, the Stanford Garden Club and as a Election Day volunteer.

She is survived her children, Cynthia O'Malley of Rhinebeck, Teresa McQuaide and her husband William of Hampton, N.J. and John O'Malley, and his wife Melanie of Stanfordville; seven grandchildren, Tracey (Leo) Rinaldi, Kerry (Scott) McQuaide, Meghan (Andrew) Curtis, John O'Malley III, Ashley O'Malley, Michael (Natalie) O'Malley, and Casandra (Jon) O'Malley-Jameson; 10 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St.., Rhinebeck. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Rhinebeck Cemetery.
