DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- The man who collapsed after an apparent medical emergency at a trail-biking event in Rhinebeck this past weekend died of natural causes, according to the Dutchess County medical examiner.
David Allan Steres, 60, of Milton, collapsed at Ferncliff Forest off Mount Rutsen Road around 11:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.
The cause of death was confirmed Tuesday by chief medical examiner Dr. Dennis Shute.
Funeral services for Steres have been set.
Visitation at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc. is 4-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, and after 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21.
A service to celebrate Steres’s life and a time of sharing has been set for 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21 at the funeral home, located at 2053 Route 32, Rosendale.
Cremation will be private.
