Clinton Bernard Snyder, 89, Of Norwood

NORWOOD, N.J. -- Clinton Bernard “Bernie” Snyder, 89, of Norwood, died Saturday, Nov. 28. 

He was born in Hoboken to Clinton and Tess Snyder, and was a proud World War II veteran and member of the U.S. Navy.

Snyder graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University and was a history teacher, as well as an employee of the State of New Jersey in the social services office.

He was the devoted husband of the late Patricia Snyder, and is survived by his cherished children, Susan and Michael Clifford of Old Tappan; Craig and Karen Snyder of Sparta; and Cynthia Snyder of Norwood; beloved grandchildren, Kelly and Kevin Wilson; Michael and Katie Clifford; Craig and Kara Snyder; Kristen Snyder; Jonathan Sabella; Kaitlin and Kevin Van Saders; Kevin and Megan Snyder; and Ryan Snyder; and great-grandfather of Reese, Patrick, Ellie and James.

Snyder was an avid reader, devoted fan of the New York Mets, swing music and Al Jolson.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception RC Church, Norwood with interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
