HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- A lifelong Hyde Park resident, Ann M. Smith, died Friday, Aug. 12. She was 73.
Born Nov 27, 1943, in Poughkeepsie, she was a cashier at Price Chopper in Poughkeepsie for many years until she had to retire due to illness.
She was a member of St. James' Episcopal Church, Hyde Park. She enjoyed local history and travelling to local historic sites along with her husband.
She is survived by her two sons, Carl G. Smith of Madison, Miss. and Daniel J. Smith of Poughkeepsie; grandson, Joseph D. Smith of Wallkill; two brothers, Michael DePaolo of Houston, Texas, and Gary DePaolo of Poughkeepsie; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Sweet's Funeral Home Inc., Route 9, Hyde Park. There will be a funeral service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17 at St. James' Episcopal Church, Route 9, Hyde Park. In keeping with her wishes, cremation will follow. Her ashes will be inurned in the Columbarium at St. James' Episcopal Church at the convenience of the family.
