Rhinebeck Farmers Market Remains Open Despite Winter's Chill

RHINEBECK, N.Y. -- Just because it's cold outside doesn't mean residents can't still grab some fresh veggies and and other goodies at the Rhinebeck Winter Farmers Winter Market.

Residents can find everything from eggs to meat to flowers at the Rhinebeck Farmers' Market at the Rhinebeck Town Hall on Sunday, Feb. 14.

The winter market operates on alternate Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rhinebeck Town Hall, 80 E. Market St. And yes, it will be open this Sunday. Feb. l4 -- just in time to make your sweetie a special meal.

Known as more than just a place to run and pick up some food or flowers, the market has become Rhinebeck's Sunday morning gathering place; a place where neighbors meet and mingle and visitors can sample the very best of the Hudson Valley.

Vendors provide a diverse selection of farm fresh products including fruits and vegetables, beef, pork, lamb, venison, buffalo, fish, chicken, turkey, duck, pheasant, rabbit, eggs, cheeses, honey, juices, jams and more.

Market organizers say the cold days are the perfect time to make their Winter Market Stew. All ingredients are available at the market along with a copy of the recipe, available here.

These are the upcoming dates for the market:

  • Feb. 14 and 28
  • March 13
  • No market on March 27 for Easter
  • April 10 and 24
  • No market on May 1
