The board, which doubles as the town parking authority, has yet to vote on the proposal that would raise the daily rate to $4 and annual rate to $400 but have considered a two-year phase in period to ease the transition for commuters, according to the Darien Times.

Currently the parking rates at both stations are among the lowest on the New Haven line at $3 compared to upwards of $8 at nearby stops, according to the Darien Times.

There is currently a waitlist for parking permits as commuters outside of Darien take advantage of the prices, according to the Darien Times.
