Schenectady County resident Kristin Crosby-Miller, of the village of Scotia, posted on Facebook just hours after the incident, which she said happened at around 4 p.m. Monday, July 11, in Scotia on Sanders Avenue.

“Please talk to your teenage drivers about how NOT funny it is to try to run younger kids and other teenagers off the road,” she wrote. “My son was riding his bike home on Sanders Ave today when a silver/grey car came up behind him, blared the horn and ran him off the road.”

Crosby-Miller said the driver then went around the block before going after her son a second time.

“This time the kids threatened him with physical violence,” she said. “(Her son) said all of the kids just laughed as he was ran off the road.”

She said the incident left her son shaken up “pretty badly.”

“I know kids will be kids, but this is unacceptable behavior from anyone,” she said. “Please have a conversation with your kids, especially if they, or a friend of theirs, drives a grey or silver car.”

Crosby-Miller shared her account on the Scotia-Glenville Current Events Facebook page, where it garnered dozens of comments, some recounting similar incidents in the area.

In one comment, Emily Williams urged Crosby-Miller to go to the police, saying a vehicle with several teens had driven by the Lally Early Learning Center on Ten Broeck Street at around the same time and yelled “serious threats” to young kids playing outside.

Village of Scotia Police confirmed they are investigating at least two separate incidents involving the vehicle, but so far no arrests have been made.

The department released surveillance images that show the silver car with a passenger’s arm sticking out of the window.

Facebook user Brian Miller also posted home surveillance video showing the vehicle drive past his home while one of the teens appears to yell something out of the window.
